"They" really refers to what is technically possible, not what the
government is doing day to day.

Private companies like Google, your grocery store, banks and your
insurance company know far more about you than the government.

The problem with NSA is they can get all of this and they have the
computer power to make sense of it if they are after you. As long as
this is just used for national security, I am not really concerned but
if this starts getting into local law enforcement there are serious
4th amendment issues involved.

Nobody can remotely turn my mic and camera on on my phone.
