JB Weld that we get here in Canada is mazing stuff. Seals block cracks very tight, with no seepage.
JB Weld is a common solution just about everywhere I think. I can tell you it definitely is prone to the expansion/contraction problem. Most of the JB weld fixes I've seen eventually start leaking again.
