It is a good question but the answer still might have been "**** you
cracker" and a punch in the nose.
I agree we would like to believe that a more civil exchange might have
had a better outcome.

I have asked people in our neighborhood who they were and what they
were doing in our pavilion a number of times without incident but some
of my neighbors think I am crazy for doing it.

I have thought about carrying my flashlight/zapper.

I'm bright enough to leave the policing to the police.

Most decent communities have a 'Neighborhood Watch' program.

Are you trying to make a point? If so, what is that point? I'm bright
enough to leave the policing to the police. THEY give that very same
advice. Of course, the vigilante mindset people don't heed the advice of
police much.
