Rick Perry won’t seek reelection

Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) announced Monday that he will not seek
reelection in 2014.

“The time has come to pass on the mantle of leadership,” he said at a
rally in San Antonio. “Today, I’m announcing I will not seek reelection
as governor of Texas.”

I was so hoping Perry, along with a few of the other right-wing GOP
morons, would give us a repeat of the Republican nomination process in
2016.

What Perry has done, actually, is ****** on the mantle of leadership,
though it is funny he claims he is passing on that mantle.

How about a Palin-Bachmann ticket?

He made it through the announcement without a scrape. Only had one
thing he had to remember.

For reasons I cannot fathom, the Republicans seem to enjoy nominating
and sometimes electing real ciphers to high political office. It should
take a lot more than a simpleton's *stated* belief in the bible to be
elected.

The upcoming Virginia gubernatorial race should be interesting. The
Republicans have nominated two complete assholes for governor and
lieutenant governor, and the gubernatorial candidate is disavowing the
running mate his party has selected. The gubernatorial candidate has
done a lot of moronic things as the state's attorney general, including
draping the statue of justice in the state capital because he thought
she was too sexy.

Both of them are bible thumpers, naturally.

Atheists are the only folks in the car not under the influence, but
nobody's about to let 'em drive.

Common sense is out of style.
