Cleaned up the carbs, bypassed the fuel deliver system (self mixing oil
into the tank) and rebuilt the fuel pump.
NOW we are having issues with the engine flooding and backfiring and
have noticed that now the fuel filter stays full all the time. The boat
will run for a period of time and then just acts like it skips and beat
and stops. Upon pulling the plugs and cleaning them up we notice the
engine is flooding and are now unsure as to how to correct this issue.
Also what do yall think about just changing out the plugs and plug wires
as a cure for the problem (the plugs are good but the top cylinder wire
must have a tare in it cause it will shock you)?
I agree with Hank, it sounds like a float or needle/seat problem.
Those foam floats can fail and saturate with gas
Might just be a case of dropping the bowl and putting it back on again
to make things line up right. Happens all the time with the smaller
motorcycles we play with here... First thing you do is drain the bowl,
take it off, and put it back on... Start, fly...
