I wonder if there will be any memorably sad anti-war songs
coming out of our trumped-up wars in Iraq and Afghanistan?

Hippies like Bob Dylan and Arlo Guthrie are not getting draft notices
so they are not involved enough in the war to write songs.
These days it would be a country or hip hop song that you would not
hear anyway.

BTW have you noticed that the music producers are trying to meld hip
hop and country? They have artists from both genres cutting duets and
the country acts are starting to do rap songs. It started with Colt
Ford and now Blake Shelton has one.

I'm afraid I don't listen to any hip-hop music and only listen to
country music when the girl singer is interesting or hot. I will confess
to liking the edginess of Taylor Swift and her songs, and yes,
I think she is both interesting and hot. My wife is a big fan of modern
country music. Usually, I'm not because the themes in that sort of music
these days are just too "relationshippy complex" for my simple guy mind.

Taylor Swift got rich Peddling junk songs to pimple faced kids. You're
the first adult fan I've heard about. Edginess????? Cute, maybe, not
hot. That little girl who won the voice blows her away. In fact, many of
the singers on that show have more talent than your girl.
