It's amazing to me that John never, ever spoke about guns until someone
decided it would be a good idea to keep them out of the hands of people
that don't know any better than to go shoot up a bunch of kids, now he's

Herring is a member of the "I retired from doing nothing, and now I need
to do stuff to fill my days club." He can't fish, so he traded in his
fishing boat for a little boat to pull toys for his grandkids on the
polluted Potomac. He can't golf, so he bought a camper to go to
bluegrass festivals, and bought a guitar, too, which I am sure he cannot
play. The gun is just the latest time-filler.
