Range fun
In article ,
says...
Following several declined invites to join me at the firing range
Mrs.E. finally got up the courage to go. I told her she didn't have
to shoot if she didn't want to, but it would be good for her to see
how the range was managed, how safe it was plus it features many other
activities and areas not directly related to guns.
I purposely brought a box of those low powered, sub-sonic .22LR
rounds just in case she decided to try the Ruger single 10 revolver
that she likes the "looks" of. Those rounds are no louder than a cap
gun going off. You can't use them in a pistol because they don't
have enough power to force the slide back and eject the expended
shell. I figured they would be a good introduction to shooting if
she decided to try it because she had never fired a handgun or a rifle
in her life.
Long story short ....
By the time we left she had pretty much used up all the 380, 38
special and 357 Magnum ammo that I had brought that day. She tried
every gun I had several times.
By the way, the theory that women are better natural shots than guys
was supported by her shooting. Something about them having hips and
a lower center of gravity makes for a more stable stance. She had
several bull's eyes at 25 yards with the 357 Magnum.
The first and last time I went shooting with my wife she all put five rounds in the locaiton
where a heart, the size of a fist, would be on a target at 15 yards. She was shooting a Colt
1911 .45. I have not asked her to go shooting again.
