Needs.
The bottom needs painting
I plan on repainting the deck in the next wk or so
The LP topside paint could use some repair. It's not that bad.
The main saloon needs new upholstery. We have covers on it. We thought it
would be better to let the buyer choose the fabric and get it done to their
likes.
The boat was built in 1971 at Minnefords yard in City Island, NY. In 1972 or
1973 Ted Turner bought it. The story is, if you can't beat it, buy it! We have
a cover of 1973 Yacht Racing, with Ted at the helm of Lightnin' in some nice
wind. Anyhow, after Ted had it, 2 people owned it before my wife and her
x-husband bought it in 1979. They raced it in the Long Beach and Newport Beach
areas for 8 years. Then they had a custom spruce interior put in the boat, and
other work for cruising, and sailed to Hawaii, then back to Portland, Oregon,
where she has been for the last 12 years.
Lightnin' has the safety of an aluminum hull, speed of a racing boat, and the
look and feel of a wood boat below.
Hope this helps, we are moving across country, where my boat is and need to
find Lightnin' a new home.
We are asking $54,000 for her. MUST sell, moving
