This group has been dysfunctional since the early days of the
internet. I'll leave the blame analysis to others. Unfortunately
the chaos has chased away a lot of good people over the years and they
haven't been replaced.

Informative about what? This is the last place I would look for boating
advice or info.
There are people here with FAR more boating experience than you.
