The problem is, a "new printer" cartridge is less than half full.
Jet printers are made to sell ink and they only start you out with
enough to tease you.

If you really do much printing, get a laser.


Or refill your own.


Pretty good low volume laser printers are available these days for about
$100, and, compared to inkjet printers, you can get a lot more copies
out of a laser cartridge. Plus, there are plenty of third-party
suppliers of good quality refilled laser cartridges. I still think that
for print quality of text on paper, laser printers are the best.
