I have had an online presence for over 25 years and Asshole is the
closest to a stalker I have ever encountered.
I still have no fear that he will ever show up at my house.

So, again, that means that it can't happen?

I might get hit by a meteor too but I am not going to let it dominate
my life.

It's all about odds, do you really think that the odds are the same of
you getting hit by a meteor as somebody stealing your data etc. because
you were dumb enough to give out personal information on the internet
for everyone to see?

What data? My name?
Have you ever looked at how much information about you is in public
records all over the internet?
If I would worry about a stalker, it would be someone a lot closer to
me than an anonymous person on the internet who may be 2000 miles
away. It may surprise you but I am just as outspoken in the local
paper as I am here and they require a real name.
Recently I have just been taking pictures that they have published
although I am scheduled for an interview about my water monitoring.

Name, then address, then everything. Stalking has very little to do with
it. I don't guess you realize this but every day, hell, probably every
few seconds, someone is the victim of ID theft and the like.

Very first top ten ways thieves get your identity? Yep, on the internet.

I've given several examples of why it's a bad idea to give ANY of your
personal information (including your real name) to anyone in the world
that has internet access. So, here you go, please show me one bit of
data or an article that suggests that it's a prudent and good idea to
give out your name or any personal information via the internet.
