Interestingly, we have large unionized and non-unionized chain
supermarkets in the DC area. They all tend to charge the same prices for
food. The non-union supermarkets tend to be marginal in their

for various fresh food violations. I wonder why.

It was the striking and demonstrating members of the meatcutters union
in Chicago in the 1880s who gave us what became the eight hour day.

Please forgive me for snickering all over your union grocer post.
Anyone who shops for groceries can't help but notice that the union
grocers charge significantly more for their goods. They have to. Unions
drive up the cost of doing business in many ways, not just wages.
As far as safe fruits and vegetables goes, it is known that washing them
in a clean sink, not the disgusting one in your famous coffee maker
photos, gets rid of most of the unhealthy and unsanitary elements.

Methinks ESAD is bull****ting the troops again. Sure haven't heard or seen any of the 'WalMart
grocery operation citings' to which ESAD refers.
