Jodi Arias Claims She Was Forced into Sex by Travis Alexander After He
Baptized Her
By COLLEEN CURRY

ABC News

Arias Said She Felt Used After Anal Sex Following Mormon Baptism

Accused murderer Jodi Arias was baptized into the Mormon church by her
Mormon elder boyfriend Travis Alexander, who then proceeded to force her
to have anal sex, she testified today in court.

Alexander's sisters, seated in the gallery of the courtroom where Arias
testified, rolled their eyes and shook their heads as Arias described
the anal sex experience.

Arias testified that two months after meeting Alexander, she converted
to Mormonism and was baptized by Alexander in a public ceremony in which
she stood in a large font. After the ceremony, she left with Alexander.

"We got back to the house, we went inside and we hugged. Words were
exchanged, and we began to kiss, and things got intimate again," Arias
said. "He spun me around, and he bent me over the bed and he was just on
top of me. I thought he was going to keep kissing me."

Arias said that instead, Alexander lifted up her skirt and pulled down
her underwear and then took off his own pants.

"And then he began to have anal sex with me," she said.

"It's not something I expected to happen, and I can't say I wanted it
to, but I didn't stop him," Arias said, speaking quietly and staring
down at her hands in her lap.

Arias said that it was a painful experience, and she eventually asked
Alexander to stop. Arias' mother and family members, seated in the
courtroom, were expressionless as they listened to the details of the
affair.

"I just went with his agenda, I guess you could say," Arias said softly.

"Shortly after, he left, and I didn't feel very good. I kind of felt
like a used piece of toilet paper," she said.

Arias is on trial for murdering Alexander, whom she has admitted killing
in a violent attack in June 2008 when she stabbed him 27 times, slashed
his throat, and shot him in the back of the head. She could face the
death penalty if convicted.

Arias, 32, claims she killed Alexander in self-defense, and her
attorneys have used her time on the stand to try to paint a picture of
Alexander as sex-obsessed and abusive, while portraying Arias as timid
and mistreated.

They two dated for a year after they met at a business conference and
began engaging in oral sex within a week of their first meeting, Arias
said on the stand on Tuesday. Arias broke up with her live-in boyfriend
of four years in order to date Alexander.

The relationship quickly evolved into an intense sexual affair in which
Alexander would arrange for meetings and request oral and anal sex or
"grinding," in which Alexander and Arias fooled around naked but did not
have intercourse

"That's something a lot of Mormons do that they aren't suppose to. The
Provo push," Arias said today.

The Mormon religion forbids premarital sex, but Alexander explained to
Arias that they weren't breaking the Mormon law of chastity because they
were not having vaginal intercourse.
