How many weeks of paid maternity leave provided by various countries?

Canado * * * * *50

Norway * * * * *44

A minor correction:

The maternity leave regulations in Norway have two different time
periods to be choosen from:

* a) *44 weeks with 100% of regular wages, OR
* b) *54 weeks with 80% of regular wages.

As per january 2013, the maximum annual maternity leave payment provided
by the public social welfare system in Norway is limited to NOK 492,732
(equal to approx. US$ 91,250).

Ahh, but in the good old U.S. of A., we don't give a damn about the
health and welfare of mother and child once the fetus is delivered.

Really? Since when? I've never heard of a starving single mother
yet, OR a baby who has been denied healthcare.

Where do you get these wild ideas, Harry.
