A suppressor is an NFA device, regulated exactly the same way as a M2
.50 cal or a 20mm anti tank gun.

Not counting grenades and LAWS rockets and the like. However it is
legal to own a bolt OR *semi-auto *.50 cal with an FOID card in
Illinois.
