545 vs 300M
In article ,
says...
Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, & our nation was the
most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had
the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise
the kids.
What in the heck happened? Can you spell 'politicians?'
How did the above right-wing fantasy bull**** get attached to the
Charlie Reese article? Do you actually open such chain e-mail?
I know Reese is a "conservative" but don't think he's a wacko.
He's not so stupid as to make that comment.
1913 was about as low as America ever was in terms of poverty and
wealth inequality. It was Robber Baron days.
There was no "middle class."
You were wealthy, or you worked 12 hour days 6 days a week.
Then you spent 40-50% of your wages on food.
Child labor. Only 1/3 went to elementary school.
Only 10% graduated HS.
Jim Crow and many lynchings.
Drunks laying in gutters.
Women couldn't vote.
But they could burn in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire.
All that was in place of the "tax list" posted.
I know what era I pick.
Anybody want to state they prefer 100 years ago?
Be my guest.
In contrast to Reese's reasonable article, the tax list and comment
expresses a Neanderthal view.
Very "current Republican." Tea Party? Paul Ryan? Mitt Romney?
No "Social Security tax?" I wonder why.
No "Medicare tax?" What a shocker.
No "Recreational Vehicle tax"" Another absolute shock.
And so on.
The "Liquor tax" is just a flat lie. I didn't bother looking at any
others. Too silly.
Here's a Reese archive.

Here's Reese's original article.

Why are you posting this, Richard?
Attributing bull**** to Reese is beneath you.
