Yeah, and living in Maryland, which is quite close to Amish PA country,
you never heard of scrapple until you went to Florida.....

Maryland is really more like 4 states. If you are North and West of
DC, you live in Pennsylvania. South and East is more like the Southern
US and if you live in Baltimore or the close in DC suburbs it is just
the city.
The Eastern Shore is a unique experience, not like anywhere else
except the Delmarva Eastern Shore (Delaware, Maryland and Virginia)

Harry is on the cusp of Southern Maryland and the Eastern Shore,
heavily influenced by DC refugees

Marylanders don't have to go to PA to see the Amish. They Amish are in
Maryland.

Yup, the Amish built my brother in law's house in Ridge, near Point
Lookout.

I never really heard of them up where Harry is or in Anne Arundle, PG
or Chuck County.
I doubt they can afford Montgomery or Frederick

Many, many of the old order Amish have fled the PA MD areas because of
the commercialization of them. Many have went to western NY which is
still rural enough where a lot of areas in the hills don't have
electricity going that far. Lancaster, PA is nothing but a tourist trap
anymore, and a lot of so-called Amish built goods are anything but.
