It was bad enough that entire civilizations in Central and South America

Odd, I thought those human sacrificing civilizations became
'Indigenous Catholics"

All indigenous in this context means is people native to the general
area. The people in question had their own culture and religion until
European christians destroyed both and forcibly converted them to
christianity. Those who survived were still indigenous people.

As for their human sacrifices, were they any worse in that than the
christians who came along and murdered large segments of the indigenous
populations with their weapons and European diseases? Since the time of
jesus, millions and millions of people have been murdered in the name of
christianity. Are those murders somehow less evil than the ones the
peoples of Central and South America committed before they were
destroyed by christianity? Christianity is a bloodthirsty sect.
