So why do people spent money to catch tarpon and bill fish?

I don't know...to prove their manhood or to show they have a connection
to a time when mankind needed hunter-gatherer skills to survive? When I
fished, I was never that interested in going after "trophy" fish. When
we lived in the St. Augustine area, I'd love to pull into the seaplane
lagoon off the ICW at certain times of the year when tarpon were in the
area and watch them play. It never occurred to me to try and catch one.

I think we are going to Kenya this summer to visit a college chum of my
wife's and if we do, we'll go on a photo safari. I wouldn't mind some
photos on the wall of what we see, but I don't feel the need to put an
animal's head on the wall.
