That PC makes a great 19V cabin heater, all that wasted heat from the cpu
should be used for something. Maybe they can make the next model using
Intels new Prescott (aka PressHot) P4 and put a hot plate on top of it so
you can at least use the heat to cook breakfast.
I wonder when will someone build a decent low power marine pc and stop this
infatuation with P4 cpus. Perhaps using the EPIA cpu or even better the
Athlon64 cpu using Cool&Quiet. Both of those cpus can run be run using less
than 30 watts.
Then again, on a 70' vessel who cares about power consumption.

Stealth computers are definitely not portables. They are just super
small industrial strength. Require 19VDC so it needs to run off an
inverter or a DC/DC boost converter. About half the inside of the 401
is fan and heatsink. They do make a fanless model but it can pnly run a
1Mb P3.
The 401 is definitely a Rolls Royce in the SFF PC world but it cost like
one too. Figure on $1.7K for a working box.
