Why shouldn't they be able to have a bible study class as long as it

They made us study Beowulf.

At least everyone knows Beowulf is a mythic poem. Too many accept the
bible as "real."

My English teacher seemed to think it was real, or at least far more
significant that I thought it was.

On the other hand my Latin teacher thought Gallic Wars was the I
Ching. Analysing it did make Latin more interesting tho so maybe it
was a good teaching tool.

They couldn't get me interested in Beowulf.

It used to just amaze me when an English test would ask what MY
interpretation of something we read was, and I'd state what MY
interpretation was of this piece of fiction and be told I was wrong!!!
How the hell could one be wrong if you state what your interpretation
was??!!
