well the bills are starting to pour in for the salvage of my boat
after hurricane sandy.
the boat was up on blocks for winter storage when the storm hit. it
floated off the blocks and was recovered by seatow, which propped it
up against a house and put blocks under it to stabilize it.
the marina then moved it from there back to its original position.
i insepcted the boat 2 weeks ago and it appears to be in good shape
with no damage to prop shaft or rudder.
seatow bill: $150/ft. so that's about $4000. bill from the marina
$800. submitting to insurance....see what they'll pay.
You may be pleasantly surprised. Read your policy. Were/are you a member
of BoatUS? We lost our boat in July despite heroic efforts by TowBoatUS.
The insurance paid for the salvage efforts and the agreed value of the
boat, wich was more than the boat's market value.
No i made the mistake of getting a policy from the co that does my
house and car. mistake. no coverage at all except for hull and 400 for
'emergency' service. sucks
bummer...
