I think the argument is based on the fact that you can have all the
commercialism you want but you can't actually celebrate the birth of
Christ. Is there a nativity scene in Rockefeller center? No
The real humbug is the fact that this became a shopping holiday the
day after Labor Day.
Christmas has become nothing more than a very commercially profitable
period.
For some folks, that's very true. For others, it's not.
