I think you and the article are giving FOX too much "credit". I've personally watched maybe 30 minutes of FOX news in my life. Might have heard 5 minutes worth of Rush. What I do hear is the MSM and liberal pundits talk endlessly about them both. The folks on the left are mesmerized by them. We see that right here in this NG.

I suppose FOX does give liberals a target, and provides them with the talking points to fire their base up. In that sense they probably aren't helpful.

Yup, and that's how the ignorant judge.. I hate MSNBC but watched almost
exclusively the last few weeks just to be informed...
