Now I'm off to check on my dad, coming back to work on the Torino this afternoon, and boating tomorrow!
You boys play nice... :-)
Just tinkering or is something wrong with the Torino? That sure is a
beauty of a car!
Tinkering and restoring. It was drivable when I parked it, but now it's sitting on my lift up in the air, with the rear up on jackstands. 9 inch rear end has been sandblasted, primed and painted, rear chunk rebuilt (3.50 posi), all new bearings and seals, and a new set of leaf springs. Welded in a patch on the quarterpanel for a spot of rust the size of my thumb, and I'm finishing up the bodywork for that. Then I'll clean, prime and paint the underside of the back half of the car and re-assemble.
Then on to the front half. Rebuild the 351C 4V and substitute an AOD tranny for the C4, get the heat and AC working, and freshen up the interior. Then paint and some new chrome.
When I spell it all out like that, it makes me feel a little queasy. :-)
Nice.. I have helped my bud do a couple frame up restorations, it's a
lot of work and money... I asked him once what he spent doing his 72
nova hatchback, he said he stopped counting dollars at about twenty
thousand...
