10 worst states to be retired in. #1 being the worst

10. Wisconsin
9. New York
8. Washington
7. Rhode Island
6. Maryland
5. Alaska
4. Connecticut
3. Massachusetts
2. Michigan
1. Maine

I'd pretty much agree.

Don't retire in Maryland.

Maryland started going down hill when they pulled out the slot
machines. ;-)

It started going down hill after I moved here.

Montgomery County, Md and Fairfax County, Va used to be the two richest
counties in the country. Today Fairfax, co is still in the top 5 and
Montgomery is down to 15 or so and falling rapidly.

Now Montgomery County wants to impose their own gasoline tax. All that
is going to do is make people buy gas in DC, Virginia and PG, AA,
Howard, Carroll and Frederick counties.

The State has pushed all of the teacher pension obligations back to the
counties. Now the county taxes are going to rise at a rapid rate.
