There are several documented experiments involving a laser fired
through gaseous cesium (within a vacuum chamber)
that suggests that the beam emerges from the chamber before it
entered. I think a Russian physicist first demonstrated this.
I found a possible explanation. I understand some of it (interference
patterns) but not all the math.
