More anti-gun crap with no presented solution.

Any discussion is good for getting to a solution.
Might not be one. Depends on how many more innocents get slaughtered,
what frequency, etc.
The last few mass shootings were committed by perfectly legal purchasers
of guns. Maybe that's the norm. I don't keep track.
Then legal gun sales went up so people could protect themselves from
other legal purchasers of guns. Common pattern.
Real sweet for the NRA. Mass gun killings are a good thing for the NRA
and gun industry if it doesn't get out of hand.
Lots of money in guns. Lots of money.
So as long as gun killings don't get past a certain tipping point,
nothing will change.
Can't change it without an outright ban on guns.
Legal buyers' guns will get stolen from them by killers, or lost, and
found by killers. Legal buyers sell guns to killers.
Killers can legally buy guns. They only become illegal when the killer
starts pulling the trigger.
So-called "legal" gun dealers will keep on selling to legal "straw"
purchasers, who then sell the guns to killers.
It's a big money industry. Lots of money, lots of money. Gun nuts.
Part of the culture is gun nuts too. Look right here at all the talk
about guns.
Gives some a feeling of potency, I suspect. Dick replacement therapy.
Me, I like loud yelling and fists for settling disputes.
If I get my ass kicked and survive, then I can think if it's worth
getting a gun and shooting the SOB. Got a cool-off time in there.
So far, by the time I was patched up from the ass-kicking I just decided
to take my lumps. 'Course I'm not a killer.
Not fearful enough to have a gun around either. I did carry for a while
after I stole a man's wife from him. I ain't too stupid.
So I don't support the NRA. That's for killers and gun nuts.
When the majority of people come to the conclusion that there's no
practical difference between the killers and the gun nuts, things might
change. I ain't holding my breath. Too much money in it.
Hell, people keep voting for Republicans. That's even more crazy.

Well said.

Speaking of "straw purchasers," Virginia might be the epicenter of that.
Individuals with trunks full of guns show up at gun shows and set up
shop in the parking lot, selling guns to other individuals who don't
want to bother with niceties such as background checks and waiting
periods. In Virginia, it is legal for individuals to sell firearms to
other individuals without paperwork. There have been several newspaper
and tv "exposes" on this practice.

I personally know this is the case. Some years ago, I sold my Sig X-5
pistol to a Virginia resident. I went through a Virginia FFL, but when I
called the Virginia authorities, I was told such a step was not
necessary, that the gun could be sold to the individual without going
through an FFL.

So long as there is permissiveness like that there is no way to keep
handguns out of the hands of criminals or psychoscotties.
