Default 1929 'Windjammer' film - 'lost' essay by Alan J. Villiers

Here is the 'lost' essay by Alan J. Villiers the taking of footage
in 1929 for what eventuated as the first 'Windjammer' film.

Download the document from:

The footage was taken aboard the full-rigged ship 'Grace Harwar' on a
passage from Wallaroo in South Australia, to New Zealand, around Cape
Horn, to Queenstown in Southern Ireland (now Cobh), and then to
Glasgow.

During this voyage his friend and companion Ronald Walker was killed
whilst aloft. And at least one young teenage sailor was washed
overboard but survived - just.

The films have survived and are available to watch at British Pathe.
The links are in the document above.

Enjoy!!

P.S. Does anyone know if Ronald Walker's diaries / log of the voyage
have survived &/or been published?
