keep this a boating group? let's give it another try. can't we all

along?
Bob, I have been doing a bit of research, here. I have found what I
can post (and to whom) to start a firestorm of OT ramblings.
Additionally, the corollary of that is that I have had a VERY hard
time eliciting ANY response to boating posts. I assume that the
explanation for that is that nearly everybody that owns a boat
and/or
actively engages in boating has, long since, left this newsgroup.
While there may be some good will in wishing to return this to a non
political group (as it SHOULD be), they simply have nothing to talk
about with respect to boating, fishing, or the like.
Without a fulfilling hobby, the remainder of posters have become
very
predictable anxious people that have nothing to do with their time
but
wallow in the anger of politics and the economy.
This will never again be a boating newsgroup unless these people
leave
and allow for a cordial, non-judgmental, and friendly atmosphere to
return, which will allow those actually interested in boating to
return.
That won't happen because those people have nowhere else to go,
having
been kicked out of every moderated forum on the net. Sorry to sound
negative, but I think this is a realistic answer.
So poopsie, exactly which of your illicet nautical posts were you
expecting to start a lively exchange with? We all must have missed
them. Snerk!
