I was in West Marine the other day and they also have a variety of
waterproof cases. A waterproof case might also make it floatable
depending on the volume of trapped air and weight of the phone.


When I hear "case" I think of hard sides. Did you mean these?

Yes. Perhaps "enclosure" would have been the better word.


The generic term is case, with an appropriate adjective. Hard, soft,
waterproof,camera,radio, you name it, all cases.
