Default Zimmerman to be arrested and charged....

In article ,
says...

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/30/op...ted-community-
mentality.html

Though I don't want to live in a gated community myself, or ever belong
to a HOA, this is a shallow article, not worth reading.
I'd like to know how many of these people living in these places simply
moved there because of location or pricing.
You know, as in location, location, location. And "Can I afford it?"
I'm sure there are many "wrong-thinking" folks in these places, but it's
not smart to paint with a broad brush.
Once a developer establishes a gated-community, isn't the die cast?
Can the HOA members vote to change it to non-gated?
Also, I've heard these places have virtually the same crime rates as
non-gated.
So it just doesn't make any sense to me.
