Actually, most people favor retaining the right to protect one's self with a legally owned firearm. Most on the left favor taking that right away.

And gun crime is rampant and will remain so because most gun crimes
are committed with either a gun stolen from the legal owner or
"borrowed" from the legal owner.

So we are in agreement... the gun crime problem is not with legal gun owners, but criminals. Good. Let's go after them, not legal gun owners.
