Back to the Future...
We're turning hard to starboard, selling Flying Pig, looking into the most
economical areas in the US (we still want to be US citizens) in which we can
either build, buy or rent someplace small, but still be within reasonable
distance of quality medical care and cultural possibilities.
Sorry to hear this. Bob says he wants to put the boat in the water
this month, but I'm not so sure - he hasn't even gotten the back yard
mowed yet. We didn't get out at all last year as I had pneumonia for
a couple of months in the summer.
We like it where we are on the Chesapeake which has D.C. and Baltimore
within easy distance and the sailing on the Chesapeake is about as
good as you will find. When we were over in Colonial Beach a year or
two ago there were lots of little houses for sale, and that is also
within a reasonable distance of DC and probably also Richmond if you
didn't mind living in VA.
Friends who have swallowed the anchor to be close to their
grandchildren have settled in the Tampa area in an RV park. Our
daughter lives in Miami but most of Florida isn't that cheap. I don't
know whether you want a warm weather location or if someplace with a
winter would be OK.
