What if we ran out of oil next week, or more probably, the price
doubles or triples in a short time. As you allude to with plastic,
the real value of crude oil is as an industrial feed stock, not as a
flammable energy source.


open Alaska, open the pipeline, drill, drill, drill... If we had started
(or just kept going) with this at the beginning of this administration,
we would be half way to the 6 years they said it would take. Of course
you know about now, they would be ahead of schedual but we wanted
"European" pricing here in the US, well, the administration did anyway...
