All the same could be said of portable power drills.
Good point. You notice drills usually come with a spare battery and
when the batteries stop holding a charge, people usually throw away
the drill
They do? I send the battery packs out to be rebuilt. Last time I
checked, it was about half the cost of a new, OEM battery pack,
including shipping. Why toss a perfectly good power tool because it
needs a fresh battery pack?
It is true. I know you can get cheap batteries online or get your
packs rebuilt but your average guy just goes to Home Depot, sees the
batteries cost as much as the drill and they buy a new one.

My last rebuild was about 60% the cost and lasted about 1/2 the time
original battery did.
