The most vehemently racists I have seen live in the north and a scary
number are cops. I bet there are more Klansmen in Ohio than there are
in Alabama.
The only Klan rally I have ever actually heard about personally was in
southern PG county Maryland (according to the Washington Post)

The Klan I ran into was in Alabama and Georgia. They were very open
about it, they had big plaques and such on the walls stating their
position in the organization. I was recruited by well versed members who
came complete with sales props and were professionally trained in their
job... At the same time, the most racist people I have ever dealt with
are northern urban blacks...

Word on the street is that Krause produced brochures for the klan to
supplement his union work.
