So you don't invest either? I hope you folks like cat food.

No, and I have no money worries.

Where does your money come from?

SS, savings, and more "savings" from a pension I took as a lump sum.
Before you start yakking about the stock market, why don't you ask if my
electronics gear is all Made in the U.S.A.
I already know Wall Street is a bacteria that infects most everything.
I already know I have paltry returns keeping everything in cash.
But I never traded a stock in my life.
Never wanted to, not a bit.
Never took equity from a house, and paid my mortgages off well ahead of
schedule.
Never loved counting money. Just made sure I had enough to get by.
As I said before, the pension money is pure gravy.
Never counted on it, and can do fine without it.
I could do okay with just the SS, but would have to adjust some.
The excitement would probably add some years to my life.

High salaries, defined benefit pensions, and born a boomer.
I look at it all as mostly luck, with a good pinch of frugality.
Too bad most in the following generations won't pour that gravy.
Many public sector workers are the big exception.
Of course they're unionized. Nice pension plans.
Unions keeping Wall Street flush. Seems odd.
Unions rooting for Wall Street, and Wall Street rooting for unions.
Wonder how that will all pan out.
Kinda like the news media pumping the fools up for Black Friday
hysteria, then decrying the results.
