Toyota makes very good vehicles, even the RAV4. It's no truck
however, not even a proper SUV. Most SUVs will plow snow if called
upon. If you're happy with your wimpy little electric snow blower,
that's fine with me but it means that you don't get much real snow.

Here's a picture of "real snow" from my old home town:

Depends on the year.
If more than 6-8 inches are on the ground, I use the electric Toro
somewhat like a shovel... skimming off the top 4 or 5 inches of snow
and then put it on the ground to finish the job.
In the winter we seem to avoid a lot of snow here in the city due to
the Atlantic Ocean's effect.
Downside... not the best place to own a snowmobile... unless you
trailer it a couple hundred miles to Cape Breton or next door to New
Brunswick.

I don't shovel snow, period. If the snow is too deep for our 4Runner in
4WD I call a landscape guy I know and get on his schedule for a plow. We
don't have sidewalks adjacent to the street in front of our houses here,
just sidewalks from the driveway to the front door. Mail is delivered at
a central set of boxes at the traffic circle down the lane. The reality
is, after a heavy snow, until our streets around here are plowed, no one
without a big-tired 4WD vehicle and tire chains is going anywhere.

It's different in more urban areas, where I believe you are required to
clear the sidewalk adjacent to the street in front of your house and
your walkway so the mailman can get to your door.
