I have been making series drogues to U.S. Coast Guard specifications
in Melbourne, selling them mainly in U.K. and Europe. Australia is
about to sign a free trade agreement with the U.S. any day now, and I
dont have any contacts there. I dont like working with large companies
because they seem to spend most of their effort working out new and
smarter ways of screwing me. I am looking for individuals that like
messing around in boats, and have some spare time.
My drogue is the best on the market and 20% cheaper than the nearest
competator.
The U.S. Coast Guard says the only tactic that will save a boat in
large breaking wave conditions is deloying a series drogue. They
concluded that no yachts would have been lost in the 79 fastnet race
if series drogues had been deployed. They dont say that about
parachute style sea anchors, lying ahull, running, heaving to,
galerider, or anything else.
There is talk that the O.R.C. (ocean racing club) will make series
drogues compulsory equipment on ocean races, this could be in a month,
year or never. Either way, it should be on boats because it saves
lives, and is idiot proof, and if you find yourself in 50ft waves,
most of us turn into idiots. But I digress.
If you want to yarn, email me, or look at my web site
