The 65-year-old Cain, a former pizza company executive with no
experience in political office, has been running neck and neck with
former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney for the lead in polls of
Republicans considering who will be the nominee to face Democratic
President Barack Obama next year.

At least three women have accused Cain of sexual harassment from his
time as the restaurant industry's top lobbyist. Cain has given
conflicting accounts of the cases since the news broke a week ago by
news website Politico. He insists the claims were baseless and that he
was wrongfully accused.

But a woman who received a cash settlement from the restaurant
association in response to her harassment claim rejected Cain's denials
on Friday. She said through her lawyer that she was the victim of a
"series of inappropriate behaviors and unwanted advances" by Cain in 1999.

The allegations have received wide attention. The Reuters/Ipsos poll
found more than 80 percent of respondents have heard of them.
Republicans are the most aware, at 88 percent, while independents the
least aware, at 64 percent.

I have mixed feelings about Cain's decline. On the one hand, he's such a
dirtbag and so obviously unacceptable intellectually for high
political office. On the other hand, he's so *perfect* as the candidate
for today's Republican party and so easy to defeat in a general election.

Well, there's always hope for a Perry, Bachman, Santorum revival. I can
hardly wait for Santorum to show up at a "debate" with a fetus in a jar
and a proposal to ban condoms.

It's looking more and more like Romney as the GOP nominee, and while I
think he is rational in his own way and certainly capable of being
president, I think he's got a lot of baggage that will doom his chances.

Well O/bama has/had trunkloads of baggage and look at him now. He's
warming up the oval office seat for the next republican president of
These United States. Praise the Lord.

It's proof that a liberal press can influence the uneducated, liberal masses.

And there's proof that FOX can influence the uneducated, conservative
masses.
