650,000 new members ahead of Bank Transfer Day
WASHINGTON (11/4/11)--At least 650,000 consumers across the nation have
joined credit unions in the past four weeks, reflecting consumers'
reactions to rising fees at banks, according to a survey by the Credit
Union National Association (CUNA).

What happens when the credit unions get so big that they trigger the
Durbin amendment? What happens when merchants stop taking CU debit
cards or tack on a surcharge?
(The Durbin amendment does not apply to small banks and CUs so they
can still charge the higher click fee)

Yeah, that's the ticket. Let's not do anything to express displeasure
with big banks. That'll teach 'em.
