LAtest news...apparently one of the paid-off women received a check for
a full year's salary.

Nothing to talk about... snerk

----------------------------------------------

True or not true, guilty or not guilty, one thing that really ****es me
off is that the media can keep these women's identities
anonymous. Seems to me that if you are going to publically accuse
someone of wrongdoing, you should be identified.

This is particularly true *if* the allegations are true *and* the women
involved accepted any "settlement" in return for a
non-disclosure. Cain didn't bring the subject up. The media dug it out
of alleged "victims" who apparently agreed to
keep their mouths shut in the settlement.

Be it what it is, it's too bad. Herman Cain may be an oddity, maybe he's
financed by the Koch brothers, maybe he has a
fondness of women (he certainly wouldn't be the first ... and at least
he prefers the opposite sex) but the guy isn't a dummy.
His Bachelor's is in Mathematics, holds a Master's in Computer Science
and has a track record of success with Pillsbury in turning
around underperforming business units in record time. He may not be
presidential material, but he is certainly different and
somewhat entertaining.

Cain has no chance of beating President Obama. Actually, none of the
current Republican candidates do, including Romney.
Unless President Obama makes a huge, royal screw up in the next 12
months, he will be elected to a second term. Not a
landslide by any means .... but I predict he will be victorious.

Cain may be a success as a businessman, but his ignorance of foreign
affairs is astonishing, even for someone following in the party
footsteps of Sarah Palin. That he is this moment's "favorite" of the
ultra conservatives who control the GOP despite all his baggage says
chapters about the GOP.

The only GOP presidential wannabe who is impressive to me is John
Huntsman, and he's going nowhere in the polls.

------------------------------------------------------

John Huntsman makes too much sense and isn't weird enough to be the
Republican nominee this time around.

I don't like the direction this country is taking .... but that's just
me. I was always inspired and in awe of
the old "USA" with it's opportunities and rewards for those willing to
work for them. But, it has become
corrupt as hell with career politicians jumping in bed with big business
and other sources that financially
benefit them and control most of the legislative agenda of Congress.

One benefit I see as we slide more and more towards a European style of
socialism. It will help solve the
illegal immigrant problems. In fact, it may affect legal immigration as
well. The USA was always the
choice number 1 of those looking for an opportunity to improve their
lives and maybe even become a financial success
in a system structured on capitalism.

The way things are heading, they all may decide just to stay home.
