That's quite normal for lakers. I forget the technical term but I see
many ships that are spraying the deck and hatch covers. The
canal/lakes are cooler than the air and it's to prevent problems from
different expansion (or contraction) rates due to temperature.

If you can access the picture of the Tim S Dool (from July 27th, 2010)
that I posted on August 8th 2011, you can see the sprays. If you
can't find it on a.b.p.t-s,then try

It's not visible on this picture, but I recently saw the Dool, and
water was running out of one of the the anchor pockets. This is also
common. I'll try to post a picture of this soon.
