The real question is does this administration realize how much they
have antagonized the sailing community?
Is there a sailing community? Politically, I mean. I think sailors tend
to vote their 'real life' issues. The number of voters that cruise full
time and would vote "sailing issures" are probably rather small,
politically speaking.
Just a fact of life, even if the cruising life is the best life of all....
Well, it is probably not all that large or influential, but I was in
Key West a couple of weeks ago and there was more than a little
grumbling about the increased enforcement of the laws against sailors.
Mainly I was just trying to keep the post semi-sailing relatated

Cruising World did have some sort of cover story on the Cuba crackdown
in the last month or two, so it is on the minds of some. I would like
to visit Cuba myself, but not enough to risk a felony conviction and a
$50,000 fine. I suspect that things will change after the November
election, regardless of who wins. This is election year politics.
