Isn't anymore...

For the clueless or cynical diehards who deny global warming, it’s
getting awfully cold out there.

The latest icy blast of reality comes from an eminent scientist whom
the climate-change skeptics once lauded as one of their own. Richard
Muller, a respected physicist at the University of California,
Berkeley, used to dismiss alarmist climate research as being “polluted
by political and activist frenzy.” Frustrated at what he considered
shoddy science, Muller launched his own comprehensive study to set the
record straight. Instead, the record set him straight.

“Global warming is real,” Muller wrote last week in The Wall Street
Journal.

If he posted his findings in rec.boats, I'm sure Snotty and the
edumacated righties could get him back on course.

No doubt climate change is real. The argument has revolved around the percent of the reality which
is man-made and can be corrected by expensive 'carbon footprint' programs sold by Al Gore.

That is the real issue.

If you track the current climate change, it tracks population growth
as much as any other metric. That also closely tracks the rise of
agriculture and the loss of forests. This is actually an 8000 year old
trend according to am article in Scientific American.
If the plan does not include reducing the population of the planet
significantly, I do not see man made climate change being affected
much.
I suppose the impending thermonuclear WWIII will scrub a few billion
off the population and reduce the increase in industrialization a bit
as we claw our way up out of the stone age again so I am not really
that worried about climate change per se. Nuclear winter may be a
bigger problem than a little extra CO2.

War has historically been a big factor in limiting human population.
