The epicenter wasn't that far from the nuke plant on Lake Anna. Sure
hope there's no problem there...
Uh, it was a 5.9, there will be no problems at the nuke plant.
You have no credentials and your opinion on the matter is of no value.
News reports say the nukes were shut down and the diesel generators are
now pumping cooling water through the plant. Hopefully, there was no
damage, but it has been talked about as a possibility at Lake Anna for
years. I'm sure there will be a full inspection before the reactors are
restarted.
Funny, Japanese pumps worded too but with cracked pools and
pipes...pumping water just floods the area.
It is just a mater of time before one in the USA does the same.
So, does that mean you're for or against nuclear power? Do you believe
it should be closely regulated or should we just rely on the company
(like GE) to tell us it's safe?
Yep. I was pro-nuke up until Japan's screw up. When Japan started
deliberately washing radioactivity into the Pacific, I came to the
conclusion mankind is not politically rational enough for the technology
period.
That kind of pollution makes DDT and asbestos look tame.
Well, as usual, you haven't thought through the whole issue. Compared
to, for example, death by coal-fired plants, nuclear energy is quite
safe.
FYI, DDT and asbestos were banned by GOVERNMENT action.
Debatable, Three Mile Island, Chernobyl, Japan...for the major ones and
1000's of minor releases. Not to mention the nuclear testing.
So why not ban plutonium, enriched uranium and so forth?
As I said, only a mater of time.

If it is all Bush's fault, then how come Obama is doing much more of the
same and expecting different results?
