...to attack the district of columbia:

Months after the District?s ?Chocolate City? moniker was melted by
census figures showing that blacks? share of the population fell to half
as the white population reached one-third, detailed numbers released
Thursday show that among young adults, whites outnumber those of all
other races combined.

The new white residents are breeding, quite literally, another group,
the numbers show: babies. With widespread gentrification in many parts
of the city entering the better part of a decade, those who moved here
as recent college graduates are beginning to have children and are
increasingly staying put.

?Some of the things that made the neighborhood appealing for a young
not-married couple, then a married couple here are still appealing to
parents,? said Robin Leon, 34, as she walked her 10-month-old in a
stroller near 14th and D streets Southeast.

Among 70,000 residents between 25 and 29 years old, 51 percent are white
and 30 percent are black, census statistics released Thursday show, a
higher percentage than in both Fairfax and Montgomery counties. Whites
outnumber blacks of every age between 22 and 34 years in the District....

It's tough being John Herring, eh?

In the 50s we had a black neighbor in Anacostia who said
"We are going to run you white folks out to the suburbs then we will
go out there and run you back into the city".

If you were talking about PG county, that was very accurate. It is
80% black and hispanic now. I bet my ex is going to sell her Clinton
house and move back to her parent's house on So Dakota Avenue.
That would close the loop.

As of the estimated American Community Survey Census of 2008, there were
825,924 people, 298,439 households, and 198,047 families residing in the
county.[15] The population density was 1,651/sq mi (638/kmē). There were
308,929 housing units at an average density of 623/sq mi (241/kmē).

The racial makeup of the county was as of 2000:

62.70% African American
27.04% White
7.12% Hispanic or Latino
3.87% Asian
3.38% Other races
2.61% Two or More of any race
0.35% Native American
0.06% Pacific Islander

By the 2008 estimates there were 298,439 households out of which 65.1%
are family households and 34.9% were non-family households.[16] 36.4% of
households had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.00%
were married couples living together, 19.60% had a female householder
with no husband present. 24.10% of all households were made up of
individuals and 4.90% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age
or older. The average household size was 2.74 persons and the average
family size was 3.25 persons.

In the county the population was spread out with 26.80% under the age of
18, 10.40% from 18 to 24, 33.00% from 25 to 44, 22.10% from 45 to 64,
and 7.70% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33
years. For every 100 females there were 91.50 males. For every 100
females age 18 and over, there were 87.20 males.

The median income for a household in the county in 2008 was $71,696,[17]
and the median income for a family was $81,908. The 2008 mean income for
a family in the county was $94,360. As of 2000, males had a median
income of $38,904 versus $35,718 for females. The 2008 per capita income
for the county was $23,360. About 4.70% of families and 7.40% of the
population were below the poverty line, including 9.2% of those under
age 18 and 7.1% of those age 65 or over. Prince George's County is the
70th most affluent county in the United States by median income for
families and the most affluent county in the United States with an
African-American majority. Almost 38.8% of all households in Prince
Georges County, earned over $100,000 in 2008.

As of the 2010 census the reported racial and ethnic composition of the
county was 14.92% Non-Hispanic whites, 63.52% Non-Hispanic blacks, 0.49%
Native Americans, 4.07% Asians, 0.06% Pacific Islanders, 0.25%
Non-Hispanics reporting some other race, 2.05% Non-Hispanics reporting
more than one race and 14.94% Hispanic.

30.1% of all residents over the age of 25 had graduated from college and
obtained a bachelors degree (17.8%) or professional degree (12.2%).
86.2% of all residents over the age of 25 were high school graduates or
higher.

The above is a swipe from google. The stats tell me that family median
income is higher there than it is for rec.boats posters like Ingersoll,
flajim and a few others, and so are the educational attainments.

There are, of course, serious pockets of crime in PG County, but there
are vast areas where crime is no worse than it is in Fairfax County,
Virginia.

Speaking of census, all knowing Harry, do you still posit that there's
no census for Calvert county?
