I agree that Reagan caved on China MFN after Carter granted it and
Bush 41,42, 43 and 44 also followed in his footsteps. It was only Bush
42 that railed against it in his campaign tho.

Politicians say lots of things, including "read my lips, no new
taxes." But, it's mostly just talk.
